Default A Big one and a little one

Here are two razors that I have been working on. The folding one is an 8/8s with linen micarta. The blade is 1084 and has a temper line. The non-folding one is made of O1 and has a pattern etched into the blade, the wrap is cotton thread soaked in shellac.

WOW! I really like that the scales look old and worn and really fit with the style of the blade. Great job on both razors!

Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Really, really impressive work. I assume you've done the forging yourself?
I etching is top notch and I always enjoy seeing distressed work on things such as you did on the scales (awesome look). Most people go strat to "brand new shinny" and forget how good distresses "with taste" really is.
Have yo shaver with the non-folder yet?

Both of them are beautifull. Love that twisted shank and temper line.

    Please keep it up.

Thank you guys for the kind words.

    Yes I did the forging.

The little blade shaves well. The bevel goes up into the pattern a bit but I like the way razor looks and preforms.

    Beautiful work Both of them!

Non-folding razors isn't exactly my cup of team but this one could tempt me to try.
And the twisted tang and old look on the folding one - Georgeous!

    Thumbs up

You do the darndest things, and they come out so very very well!. You have come a long way from the home made wooden belt grinder and wet wheel grinder you showed a couple years back. belt hollow-grinding: wet wheel hollow-grinder
And, the tools you showed then are just as valid today. You have used them to find what you wanted to know and give yourself experience.
Thank you for showing that skill is developed by practice and commitment.

    Cool.
You really seem to go outside of conventions on your designs every now and then. I like that.
That smiling blade is a very beautiful piece

Oh my, wonderful wonderful razor that 8/8. It gave me a small twitch, that's how good it looks. Thanks for sharing.
