Luna through the window

This is a rescale for one of the local boys here in Brisbane. The blade is an A.Fiest & Co. - Lunawerks. I dont know anything about the blade at all.
The razor came to me with a cracked bakelite scale and a after-market third pin.

To give the scales a touch of 'Luna' I created a moon shaped window with 2 part epoxy.
The scales are smoke acrylic and the wedge is white acrylic. The pins are brass with a brass, stainless, brass stacked washer.

Wow Stu, that looks great. I thought it looked good when you showed us the roughed out scales at the meet, but the finished job is so, so much nicer.

I was originally trying to make an insert from acrylic, but gave up after many hours of sanding both hole and insert. I ended up pouring the epoxy into the hole in the scale material, waited for it to set, then sanded it back with the rest of the scale.

Very nice work indeed. You guys seem to stay one step ahead of me all the time. I've got a few pieces in the works that I've done something like this. My problem is I get way to many projects going and don't know which to finish first. I guess it all comes down to what mood I am in.
