Default Today's project, Circa 1830-1860 Ashton Jackson 8/8 Wedge

I picked up this little Gem Wednesday when I took a road trip out to Medina Ohio, Yep I stopped in to check out Imperial Shave and say hello to Don. Nice chair guys.....

On the way out of town I stopped into the Medina Antique Mall and found about 60 str8's but I have to many projects now so I decided on the nice beastie beauty. It says "Ashton Jackson Co. Improved Silver Stell". (yes Stell not Steel) a mistake when stamping?

Cleaned up the blade, (there was more pitting than first thought). As you can see I cleaned the tang but left some pitting as I wanted to keep the marking in tact and I wanted to leave some of its aged beauty to tell it's story.

The scales are made out of a Limited Addition Blue Twill Carbon Fiber and I choose Nickel Silver pins, SS washers and Brass spacers. I made the wedge from a piece of Kudu Horn.

Remember RT 18 Medina Antique Mall lots of str8's.
