Default WIP - Greaves & Sons / Mother of Pearl and Inox riveted

    Hi Guys !

A project for one of my favourite razor, I have restaured it six months ago, I've made handles in straight horn. New idea for this razor, made for it handles for this razor in the traditional way with some mother of pearl riveted on stainless steel.
This work is going to take me a little of time, I'll post the evolution with the polish of the blade before reassemble it.

    Hi ! Thanks.

I'll try to finish it next week, Hirlau, it's a razor for me, so I'll make it on my own time.

Thanks Sharptonn, I understand your point of view about patina, I'm not a fan of blade patina, or the patina must be homogene everywhere. This blade will not be mirror, I work with a little abrasive gun, and I finish with polishing pastes very thin. In my point of view, loose the soul would be loosing the angular forms of the blade if we work with abrasives too big. The beauty of a Sheffield blade is in it lines, for me of course. Everybody has own tastes.

    Have a good week-end

Yes, That is for certain! When posting something unfinished here it is up for comment! If you had posted the last few pics with a finished product, I might have said how shiny it is as it would have been completed!
It is certain to come out good in any case!

Beautiful work. I expect quite time consuming! Yes, The blade looks proper and given it's heft, it should have good balance. I would like to hold it in hand. It looks to feel as fine jewelry! Congratulations on completion and thanks for sharing it! Many happy shaves, Tom
