Just plain old 1095, nothing fancy but works well every time
If I looked at it that way, I would never have tried...lol
I used a 8" & 4" wheel. I started it like a typical honing until the bevel was pretty close to set. Then switched to the traditional Kamisori honing style from there to the finish.

Lovely blade. Looks like it would be nothing other than fun to use.
What a great hobby. Kamisoris were on my mind and voila, and no sooner do I think about it, I see one made by a fine craftsman such as you.

Did you use tape when you honed
