    Default First time with Fred

I decided it was time for me to start tackling some more intricate repairs instead of just honing out small chips and polishing a bit of rust. So for my First Restore, I chose this Reynolds, which has been bothering me for almost a year. It had a chip out of the front tip of the blade, and I knew it would need a trip to a grinder. First clean up and inspection, which showed a crack in the steel at the chip site, that would necessitate removing more metal than planned. Also ran the risk of the crack running out and who knows how much blade would be ruined then!
But it came out pretty well I think. A "sorta" round point 3/4"
What do you guys think? Finish off the round point by taking in the topside? Or leave him as is?

Personnaly I would round of the topside also.
Then it would have a more natural look to it.

+1 to rounding the top side for aesthetics. That being said, if you like it, leave it.

Oh yeah, nice job on the restore. Well done.

Reynolds seem to come in all shapes, and I like it the way it is.

Does that make it a Freedompoint?

I'd say round the top too. But that said, if you like it, leave it. Or shave with it for a bit and then see if you want to shape the top too. No rules there man.

I like it as is. Just leave it that way for awhile and revisit it in a year or so.
    Nice work!

    Hello, Magpie,
I agree with my friend Randy to leave the point as is. It's a round point with swagger, a touch of cool.
