Thanked: 993Party of 5
These are all for one of our Canadian boys, MWS. He brought these to me a while ago, and work has been all over the place so they've taken a bit to complete.
The Boker is a King Cutter that had quite a bit of staining over the tang stamp and etching. We decided to polish them out. It's in purpleheart with a CA finish.
The Ern's both had original scales, and unfortunately during unpinning one of the scales shattered. I tried to keep the curves of the Ern in mind when I made the matching set out of Padauk.
The Wosty is in cocobolo with a Renwax finish. I tried my best to keep the gold wash intact.
The Wilson was done in wenge, and is for a friend of Mikes. This friend's grandfather was a Mason, and we wanted to do something emblematic of that. Mike found the Forget Me Not pin on Ebay and sent it to me. It was a Masonic pin used in WW II to identify each other and avoid any persecution. I sanded the pin down, and with my limited collection of tools, I carved out the size of the pin in the wenge and then set it in place with Gorilla Glue. The pin is raised about 1/16" for texture purposes.
All wedges are bone. Pins and microfasteners are brass.
I think they call came out well. Thanks for taking a look!
