Jamie, as to the history of this razor I have no idea but it looks like you have just added another hundred years to this one. Well done. Your pinning looks very tidy.

Thanks Stu for your kind words I just finished restoring about two weeks ago, I only know that it's a Hero USA made 5/8, now the restore information, I removed the scales and binned them, replaced them with a super pair of vintage ones I kept from a previous job, replaced the wedge with a faux ivory one, reworked the blade various grades of wet & dry finished with 2000 grit then polished, then repinned and new internal washers, the blade is centred perfectly, I could tell the razor and blade had never been used or honed as soon as I started working on it, I finished by honing and stropping the razor it's shave ready, and in all honesty it looks like a new razor, looking at the razor I would say, but I may be wrong it's no older than 1950s or even 1960s, but that's as much as I can tell you.

You did a great job with that restoration. It is great when a razor comes back to a new lifetime of shaving.
