Jekyll and Hyde razors 1095
Here is a pair of razors I started with the same basic blade shape and took two different approaches. Both blades are 1095 the white is micarta, the black is G10 they are both 1/4 hollows. Jekyll and Hyde...maybe, Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.....maybe, whatever it is I had fun with the two.

I love them both, but I think I'd have to give my vote for Mr. Hyde.

Love the approach and both look fantastic. I think I lean a little to Mr. Hyde as well.

They are both cool razors. I tend to like the textural play and the flaming hamon on the Hyde razor.
I like the other one but my personal taste tends to shy away from polished steel surfaces. I find the more "cut back" finish and heavy texture contrast on the Hyde razor very appealing. I'm one of those goofballs who would junk all the chrome on a Harley and replace it with tarnished bronze.

I'm loving that simple yet elegant spine work there on the good Doctor
I know you have quite the eye for the more distressed, 'primitive' aesthetic - and indeed it has become your signature style, but Charlie, when you want to you can really produce some high-class cutlery, and I for one wouldn't mind seeing more of a blend of the styles - much like you've done right here. Great craftsmanship Charlie, as always.

Thanked: 1072Absolutely beautiful set Charlie and they compliment each other so well in that Yin Yang kind of way.
Gotta say I do love the black one, the textures and that wicked hamon, just awesome.

Thanked: 1371Definitely not Jekyll and Hyde, Charlie.
Hyde was the ugly version of Jekyll - he was the evil half of the man; as to appearance - people described him as inexplicably ugly. That doesn't work here.
Your razors are too beautiful to be Jekyll and Hyde.
