George "something" and sons in new purple heart scales.
This one took quite a bit of work to get to this point (she was kind of rusty) but it shaves like a dream. I didn't install a "wedge" but installed a brass spacer instead. Give your opinions please.

Thanked: 30I love that spacer. I'm going to file it away in the back of my brain for a later date. The wood is beautiful and the shape of the scales complement the blade perfectly. Good job!!!
Can you tell us about those pins a little bit? What are they and how did you get them in that shape? Is that just a fancy washer? I like it a lot.

They are from Hobby Lobby, the jewelry department. I think they are calles "daisey spacer beads" They are made of quality metal and work great as pin washers.
It looks a little strange me being in the jewelry section with a bunch of crafty girls but hey, the end justifies the means. Lol

Finish on the scales and razor seems a bit hazy.... you've got the right idea, but I think the design could use some refinement-- thinner scales, more streamlined design. And I definitely wouldn't use a spacer instead of a wedge... It looks like you have all the skills, just have to keep practicing. Have fun!

Thanked: 3164Nice job!
Could it be 'George Wostenholm & Sons' (there is also a Wostenholme with an 'e' as well '& Son' and '& Sons').

Neil
