'Was priviledged to see these shots yesterday. I was/am very impressed with several parts, starting w/ the fit/solidity of the scales to that blade. I've shaved w/ it. 'Large, but well mannered, seems to beg for a handsome 3-pin handle, and that mid-pin treatment is sweet. The wedge is particularly tasteful. I've shaved w/ the last feathered horn you did for Cuda', and it just felt great. What a great compliment for a great big blade. 'Beautiful, as always.

Glen!
You my friend have out done yourself!!! While I knew that my simple
drawings of what Connor and I envisioned were very Crude but would
give you an idea of what we envisioned would do the job, but to
include them in one of the pictures of the finished product was simply genius!
Connor will treasure this until his dying days! I can hear it now as
he tells his son or grandson as he teaches him how to use a straight razor:
"You see this razor? My dad had a friend make these scales for me as a
Christmas present, they are one in a kind, and no one else on earth
has a razor that has scales that look like this!! Some day when I'm
gone this will be yours, learn the art and take care of it and you too
will pass it along to a son or a grandson".
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Eric, I’m sad to say that Connor didn’t like it, HE ABSOLUTLY LOVED IT!!!!
When he saw it, his eyes got bigger and bigger while his mouth opened wider and wider!!
As Glen has said, I made sure that he knew that nothing was set in stone and he had complete artistic control. The results really show!
If I’d of known that Glen would be posting my crude drawings for the entire world of straight razor users, I’d have done a better job! The design was based on the Horn Scales that Glen had done for my Great Grandfather's (Wat's) W&B near wedge. Connor and I made it just a little longer, altered the toe, added the 4 pins and left it up to Glen to go from there. Here's what Glen had done for that razor!
http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...ered-horn.html
Now! I’ll let everyone in on a little secret!
You see there were these two old farts that came up with a conspiracy! I asked Glen to send me a bogus email saying that he was having supply problems getting the horn, but he was returning a razor that he had done some polishing on back to me since the delay was so long.
Connor took the bait, Hook, Line and Sinker! When I got home from work the package with the two razors was sitting on the end table un-opened! Connor had just taken a bath and was in his bedroom, so I unwrapped the Friodur and placed it in the bathroom cupboard. I then told him that he needed to shave so he went in and found it!
He not only loved the looks but the edge!Last edited by cudarunner; 02-19-2012 at 06:50 AM.
