    Default Natural deer antler scales

I am making a deer handle brush and scales from antlers obtained during the hunting season. These aren't for me, I am making them for a fellow forum member. Deer antler is not eady to work with! I have worked with buffalo and ox horn and it was a snap conpared to deer antler! I still need to buff and polish the scales but I got them installed. Here's some pics.

Look good but does the point interfere with handling?

I haven't shaved with it but I worked the blade through all the angles just to test for tightness and it felt good.

Beautifully done, Shake. I love keeping the bark on the surface. I went w/ the straight cut antler. You're right - its not easy.

Very rustic. They certainly have a very natural look. Well done.

Out of curiosity how much does it weigh?

I don't know the exact weight but they aren't very heavy.

Watch out or you might poke yourself in the eye with that point while shaving...
