This was part of a batch of 3 razors I got from ebay to practice restoring/honing on. The scales were dirty, chipped and one had a big crack filled with glue. Beyond salvation.

After polishing the blade and making cherry-wood scales. I didn't manage to get all the pitting out, partly because I wanted to keep all the lettering sharp, and partly because of impatience and inexperience.

I'm really pleased at how it turned out. These are actually the second set of scales I made - the first pair was spoiled by an odd bit of low-density wood grain that spoiled the look of it. I used those to practice peening - which was lucky because I bent the pin hitting it too hard.

    Hope you like the pics!

Nice work, I really like the etching on the blade and the jimping. I'm glad you saved it and sacrificed the mirror finish.
