    Default First set of scales

This has been a lot of work, but a great learning experience.
I started out with this (yes I bought the handsaw just for this task )
The slab of wood I believe is Koa (bought from a knife maker)

After ceveral hours of cursing, sawing and hand sanding, hand sanding, hand sanding, and finally some Shellac this is the final product of my labours.

The main thing I´m going to do different the second time around is buying som 1\8 inch wood from the U.S. Sadly I don´t think they sell wood like that here in Norway.
    Thanks for looking

    That looks great Nikko!
Seems you could use a more handy saw, but it sure looks like it did the job!

    They look really nice.

Being brought up with power tools, digital devices and computer controlled cutting machines, I'm always amazed at hand tooled things like this.

    Very nice

More than anything I think it was the sand paper that got the job done. My arm was useless for quite some time afterwards and I was really sore the next day.
    Thanks for piping in
