H. Boker & Co. Quarter Hollow Restored
Hey Fellas
Here is a H. Boker & Co. Quarter Hollow with Barber notch I restored recently.
It is 11/16" with a satin finish. The scales were really beat up but horn. I steamed and pressed them, reshaped filled worm holes (all on back side)and polished them.
There are some imperfections I like to call "inclusions" kind of like stress fractures that have an irridescence the camera couldn't pick up. The colour is more brown than black.
I cut a wedge from whitetail antler and let some of the bark remain as I like the raw look. The pins are brass with stacked stainless and brass washers. I have no idea the model but it is not perfectly straight. it has a slight curve to the blade the same as another I had that matched. They both take a hell of an edge once the bevel gets set and this sucker is scary sharp. If anybody has any idea the age I'd be interested in knowing.
Thanks for looking.
Mike
