Thanked: 172Restore of a Curley's IDEAL safety razor
Found this razor while on vacation in Virginia. A straight with guard.
It had some rust and chipped blade, but I figured for $17 bucks I'll see what I could do with it.
First took it apart and cleaned it up. I didnot go to a high shine for I wanted to let it stay used in appearence. After removing the scales I could better make out the patent dates on it, they were 1886, 1889, & 1900.
Upon attempting to remove the three hatch marks in the scales the wheel got hot and I melted a portion of them. Luckily I had some that were very close in style.
Happy to say I was able to remove the chips and used it this morning. It shaves wonderfully.
Here are some photos. Any and all comments or suggestions are welcome. Thanks PACOConsider where you will spend ETERNITY !!!!!!

That looks like a really fun razor. Does the guard flip around so it works on witherside of the blade?
