    Default W. Greaves & Sons double thumb-notch

This was a recent find on the bay it is a W. Greaves & Sons the blade tapers about 1/32 heal to toe, 11/16 at heel. some prior owner scratched it a bit trying to remove that patina... i just polished and buffed it a bit there are still a few scratches and a little patina left on the tang.

Have not tried her out yet. been working on getting it from a 2k GS to shave ready with just a barbers hone. but it is sort of a back burner item right now.

Nice blade! I'll have to find myself one of those double notched razors one of these days...

The shave ... well since I'm just using my barber's hone... the first try... not so good and i abandoned the blade today ...after the WTG i decided i do not like the razor... the shank seems a little short and my index and middle finger do not fit well before the scales. then the thinness between the notches... meh... I'll give it a few more tries but is it does not start feeling better it will be cut loose from the herd.

Looks like a great razor though, The notches like that I find are to thin in the middle for me as well but I'm still attracted to them That is just a great looking razor

    Hate to hear that Jim.

    Sure cleaned up pretty.

Only one thing left to do, send it to me and get it out of your misery.
