    Default Clauss restore

This was a nicknbleeding trade razor which I have been using for months quite happily, even though it had some pitting, a little patina and the scales were dirty and dull. I took it apart and cleaned and polished the original scales up to a nice shine, and buffed out the blade thoroughly finally removing all the stuff I didn't care for, and then she got a good kiss on the hones.

This is one amazing and beautiful razor, one of the nicest in my collection and she deserved to look her very best. I think she does now. Again, my very poor picture taking skills do not do this razor justice. She looks much better in person!

    Enjoy!

    Mike

FINE looking razor and NICE job.

I've got a CLAUSS 5/8 square point that is a sweet shaver.

They've got some really hard steel in 'em.

    Bravo Miguel!

'Very handsome, and you won't find a discouraging word about a Clauss. I have one I can't part with, in similar shape. Its the only 1/4 grind Clauss I've ever seen. 'Friendly, comfortable. 'Gave to one friend to learn the str8 on. He loved it too.

For my personal blades, the nice ones I like to keep nice, but for old ones, I don't care if they still wear their age. Shiny is nice. Rustic is fine w/ me. If it shaves well, its all good to me.

This is now my second Clauss razor, and both of them are fantastic shavers. Very little feedback, but smooth as silk, sharp enough to split atoms.

Compared to my bockla, it is a lot smoother, with less feedback. The Bockla has a 'crispiness' to it that gives much feedback, and you know your shaving with a sharp edge when you use it. The Clauss razors tend to leave you guessing, and you have to trust that your angles and pressure are right.

Both are fantastic shavers though, and I wouldn't give up either my Clauss' or my Bockla!!!

    Thanks for the feedback!!
