I had these larger than normal carved bone scales in my pile and went with it using Barbur's inner collars and small silver domes with bronze pins for a different contrast. The black wedge gave way to a recycled one donated from another old Sheffield, shaped to fit.
Lots of time invested on the super thin blade and doing the best I could on the scales. Turned out really tight, feels great in hand, and honed up with a teeny bevel. Shaves SUPER!
    Thanks for looking............Tom

Very cool Tejano Bengall & Orsum scales ! Classy job Tom.

I'm sure you know the difference but I can't help asking you to double check because the scales on my big ol' diamond nose Bengall were horn but it was a pre 1890 blade IIRC.

Thanks, Oz. Complements from you and everyone else mean a lot! I have about 15 hours of hand work in this thing. It sure makes it rewarding!
The originals were definitely Bakelite with a lead wedge. Tom
