Thanked: 324Wolf Tracks
I expect to be doing a lot more interesting stuff once I get my shop moved next month. My fiance is a brilliant artist and I'm going to have her helping with scrimshaw work. Here's a picture of one collaboration we did with my hand engraving on the spine and her scrimshaw work on the scales. I hope you like it.
Here is a bit of scrimshaw that Berni did that I put into nickel silver as a pendant. I'm really looking forward to being able to devote ourselves to this sort of thing full time, now!

'Very handsome, Robert. The tracks are nice. Clean, not taking too much from the rest of the appearance. But its the basic lines of the razor I find most compelling. The curve of the point being mirrored at the heel, the graceful sweep of the shoulderless grind - just dazzles w/ no embellishment. That kind of graceful form would be insulted by lots of eye-candy embellishment like goldwash, etc. It looks like Berni's scrimshaw is pretty serious. We'll have to keep her away from my lovely bride or we'd never see them again. Mine does the metal work on the jewelry.
Can't wait to see more when you've settled in the new location.

Thanked: 324It's been so crazy for me the last few years that I've had no time to do much of anything like posting here. So many changes and they're all good. Quitting the full time job in order to focus on razors is something I've needed to do for awhile but it was a tough move to make because the corporate job, demanding as it was, paid quite well. It just left me working 24-7 trying to keep up with razor work, which I got quite behind on and I finally had to make a choice - and so I did. So I hope to have more time to hang out with you guys after this is all done. Now.... back to painting ceilings to try to get this house sold.

Beatiful razor Robert. I think this transition will turn out to be a very positive step for you as a pure craftsman and an artist but also for your friends and followers as we all support you in this new phase. I wish you fair skies and following winds my friend.
