Thanked: 324I can tell you that it took quite a bit of practice for me and it's still a little never wracking because one slip or wrong move can trash many hours of work. A CNC engraving machine can cut patterns in metal repeatably but it can't mimic hand engraving because of the way it cuts. Nothing looks like hand engraving except hand engraving so I spent a few years and more than a few $$$ to undertake learning it. For a long time I wasn't sure I was ever going to really "get it", but it's starting to gel for me, now.
