    Default Patent Brass Frameback restoration

I've had this one for a long time and finally got around to stripping it down and restoring it. Unfortunately (as is usually the case) I forgot to take "before" shots, with the exception of the crappy ebay photo. Anyway, here it is, prior to honing. Before:

If anyone has info as to a manufacturer that would be awesome. Also, does anyone have experience with tarnishing on large brass parts like this? I was wondering about lacquering to prevent that.

Gillette double edge razors are lacquered, so there is precedent.

Good save! The brass looks nice. I haven't seen a monkey tail like that before.

Great job. I love those brass framebacks. As far as protecting the brass, lacquer is what I've always used.

Renwax will work for several mos.to keep tarnish away,Tung oil will last about 5 yrs.
