Double restore: Imperial and EBRO
Before I sell these two, I wanted to post pictures of the restore I did.
Joseph Wostenholm & Sons and Imperial Razor 'Imperial Safety' (probably in Imperial Scales made with Imperial Steel on an Imperial Grinder and put on an Imperial Boat in Imperial Packaging where someone could slip and get an Imperial Cut and then proceed to a steady round of Imperial Swearing).
The restore on the Imperial is considerably lighter so I could preserve the neat blade etch. Both razors are all original but for the pins. When I got the Imperial razor, it had the bearing washers on the outside. They left rings around the pivot pins where the scales were exposed to sunlight.
The scales were in bad shape when I got them, with lots of bug bites and delamination, plus the pivot was cracked through on both sides and then the toe snapped off. I filled in all the holes with a CA glue/horn powder spackle, colored to match with India ink and polished like crazy. Then I repainted the letters and sealed them with more CA.
The Imperial is quite hollow. A little shy of 7/8.
The EBRO is a beefy wedge and a generous 6/8.
I'm guessing the EBRO is 1870-1880 and the Imperial is 1900-ish.
Though they're not currently honed, they both were before I sanded them, and they both shaved great.
