15/16 Custom in Abalone lvs
I have recently made a bunch of changes to my grinder (variable speed, adjust, tighten, new belts, ect.) and It seems that I have resolved a bunch of issues that were slowing me down.
I have also aquired a heat treat kiln and a couple of other goodies (checkering file, and misc files) that have been extremely useful in the process.
This razor is 01 double tempered to 60 RH. The scales are some recycled abalone lvs, the wedge is made out of abs tubing and the hardware is brass.
I gave the blade a simple signature "Scetto" (my last name) with a die grinder. It works well enough, maybe someday I will invest in an etching machine.
Thanks for looking.
Oh yes, It shaves well. It was one of those "no brainers" to hone being so flat. Stropping with speed is a bit of a challenge, but not an issue IMO.

It seems thick to me. Its only .250", I could have tapered it close to the shoulder but I like it "beefy".... Thank you for the input!
One of the reasons I love doing this as a hobby is there are pretty much no rules

You've done a super job of work on that razor, such a lovely looking blade, just what i like staying farly close to original vintage razor designs, but also putting your own stamp on it, for a razor user to realise this is a lovely custom job. I really like that squareness to the barbers notch and the straight square spine great detail that wont go unnoticed.
Jamie.
