Default New Black MOP Scales for an old Double Thumb Notch Blade

After not touching a razor all summer, I decided to get down to work and make a long
promised set of scales for a friend.
These black mother of pearl scales have 3 panels per side
with layered G10 and nickel silver liners. The wedge is made from white mother of pearl
slab and sterling silver. The VR India silver wedge blade was in excellent condition and only
needed some polishing. This could be the last set of MOP scales I make with a metal liner as
the heat from sanding easily may cause the pearl to crack.
Anyway, I think it came out pretty good. This stuff is pretty hard to photograph - the finished
product is really beautiful in person. I hope the new owner likes it!

I am sure your friend will think the wait is worth it. It usually is when all things straight razor are involved. Beautiful job. The scales light beautifully.
