Default Le Grelot Royal Canada in horn

After a busy couple of months where I've not been able to get into my workroom, my wife said that this week-end I could spend as much time as I liked in there - joy of joys. Here is the first result a decent sized Le Grelot that had a lot of pitting on the spine area. The scales are horn - I'm finding that the new rotary sander enables me to get much thinner scales - look at the tang area and you will see what I mean.

I don't know whether to keep this one or offer it to some of our Canadian friends - maybe they will help me decide!

Nicely done. The scales look great.

Looks beautiful, did you use bone for the wedge?

Thanks for the compliments -the wedge is acrylic. I recently got a rotary sander (Luthiers friend) and found that by modifying a door wedge, I can get a better result than relying on hand/eye as previously.

Very nicely done! That horn is beautiful and the shape and finish fits that blade superbly

I am thinking you may want to keep that one and see what you think of the razor. Very nice work.

That is some very nice work, and as a Canadian I approve this razor. Enjoy!
