Thanked: 2284King Cutter restored in Birds eye maple.
So this razor has taken me a long time to complete and is making me not want to ever do polyurethane clear coat again!!! Its taken me 3 weeks alone just to get the clear coat to where I want it. Any who, my next one might be a CA or epoxy Resin finish.
This is one of the Razors I had picked up a while back with another razor, Joseph Rogers, and both were in bad shape. http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ique-find.html
I really wanted to do this one fancy and decided I wanted to do birds eye maple stained a bright red. Cannonfodder helped me with the stain and I was so happy to get that information from him. Thanks again Cannonfodder. http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...od-stains.html
Anyways, The razor is a Boker king cutter scaled in Birds eye maple with a Brilliant crimson aniline stain. The wedge is black walnut. 10 coats of high gloss polyurethane then were sprayed on. Pined with Nickel-silver 1/6" rod and SS washers.
Im very happy with the way this one turned out. Now all it needs is to be honed and loved!!! Hope you guys like it.
The pics are kinda bad. There's a lot of glare and my camera sucks.
