Default Taylor Witness THE 1000 Box set Blade restore and Custom Scales

This set of blades had a broken scale on each. Tons of pitting on one blade but the other wasn't so bad. They scales are thew same size and thickness of the original scales. They both match almost perfectly. I layered 6 hardwood vaneers together to make the scales. The blades are a hollow ground 6/8.

Very interesting look to those scales. That's some fine looking work right there, nicely done

Agreed, very beautiful. Heightens my inadequacy, though. Six layers, huh?

Awesome! Those had to be wicked thin layers.

Layered veneer scales is a really creative idea - thanks for posting. For the record, veneer is usually about 1/28ths of an inch thick.
