Thread: Vintage Restore - Dubl Duck Special #1

Dang....I thought you put another DD up for sale. As I clicked into the thread I was thinking SWMBO was going to kill me.

Great looking razor. Your Escher comes to mind....

This particular DD is mine! Glen has done a few razors for me now and always does a GREAT job. I found it in an antique store in Texas a few weeks ago. I was really excited to find a duck in pretty good shape.

I've been straight razor shaving for about 6 months now and I really enjoy it. When I first got Lynn Abrams video I watched it so much that my wife started to worry about me! No I am thouroughly hooked!

I recently grabbed a DD from Glen that he restored. As always, the work was impeccable but the edge he put on it was out of the realm of anything I've shaved with previously.
I am certain you are going to really enjoy the shave from that DD. Keep us posted on the shave.

Just wanted to give an update and "shaving report" on this little Duck that gssixgun restored for me. Sorry it took me so long to send an update. It arrived in Alaska no worse for ware from the long wintery flight here. This duckling has been in my rotation for over six months now. Aside from being beautifully restored, it is a GRRREEAAAAT shaver.Mega sharp and smooth smooth smooth! It is a pleasure to shave with. If I come across another DD in my travels It's going straight to Idaho!

Full tear down, polished the steel, clean sand and polish the scales and wedge, even re-blue the spine and tang... Had to re-fit the wedge too, I don't think I had ever seen a DD wedge so badly sized I used NiAg pins and the tiny SS wshers to get the same look as the old ones..

This little Duck is flying north to Alaska tomorrow, that just seems wrong somehow, as I am typing it in November ..
