    Default Crown & Castle save

Picked up a few razors with busted scales the other day to practice restoring and honing with. Just finished this 6/8, at least it was before honing. Crown & Castle. Took it down by hand to 600 grit and up to 2000 grit before a polish with Peek cream. Had to reshape the nose a bit because of some dings with a 320 DMT. Honed starting with a DMT, 1000 Naniwa, 3000 Naniwa, 8000 Naniwa, 12000 Naniwa and finished with a balsa strop and Crox. Re-purposed the Olive wood scales which I had built for my Wostie Pipe razor but dropped on first use and ruined the blade. After all that, wonder of wonders, it actually shave pretty well. Wish I had as much luck with the W&B blade I am working on. Looks like it will be tomorrow mornings shave.

That is a very nice job of work on both the blade and the scales. The scales are nicely proportioned and fit the blade well in style!

    Good Job mate.
The blade turned out great and the scales are very nicely made
