I had to end the weekend on an even number of razors so I finished this 4th one.
It had seen some better days and the scales were shot. Half black and half blonde. I saved the original lead wedge as I planned on duplicating the shape of the scales in streaked Horn. I polished the insides of the scales as well and interestingly ,, they are totally black. But the outsides, which doesn't read well in the photos have some beautiful deep chocolate areas that resemble wood grain.
    The blade polished up nicely.
And to finish it off I made up some polished SS domed washers with brass centers. I thought the silver wedge, the washers, streaks and the blade all went nicely together. I also made sure to get the sweep of the scales to match the sweep of the spine to keep it even when closed.

Another beauty - you have been busy!

    Thanks for sharing

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

No way!!!!! This is the second of your restorations I have seen this week. My jaw is still around my knees from the first one (http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...ack-brink.html) and yet again you have floored me. Either you are switching out blades or you are an alien from a planet that diets on rust and salivates pristine steel to replace what you have consumed.

Outstanding work is all I can say. Now, if you will excuse me, I think I will start a new hobby as I obviously know nothing about this one compared to you. Maybe I can try knitting. Sigh!
