Thanked: 675/8 Keen Kutter in fluorescent acrylic
My latest effort, a Keen Kutter which I got as a bare blade. There was some devil spit on the back, and a pit much deeper than the logo on the front of the blade (above the 'RO' of 'royal'), so I opted to leave the pitting and keep the logo.
It's the first time I tried a square wedge-end with double pins (which I thought appropriate for an American blade), and it's also the first time I've used a transparent plastic. Both of these factors made doing the wedge much more difficult, but I'm pleased with the result.

Reminds me of the Chemsticks I used doing NVG nightops, I really like the smooth flow it has. Looks lite, how's the shave?
Very nice job sir, very nice!!!!

A married man should forget his mistakes. There is no use in two people remembernig the same thing.

Thanked: 67Thanks, all.
I don't know how it shaves yet, I'm going to hone it this weekend.
When I was ordering plastic from the stockist I was below the minimum order when I'd chosen a few sensible colours, and I thought 'why not?'. Glad I did now.

Great looking restore, what is the K number on the tang? I love the shave I get from my Keen Kutter so you are probably in for a treat. The scales look amazing in that vibrant fluorescent green and the double pinned wedge adds lots of character. It looks like you can almost shave in the dark!

Thanked: 67Thanks!
The thing I learned from the scales I made before these is to keep the protective plastic film on the acrylic for as long as you possibly can while cutting/sanding. Acrylic scratches really, really easily.
K 419. Any idea what the numbers are about?
And yes, it's a great shaver.

I think the numbers were to designate the model of keen kutter brand razors. I have a K739 that I posted here a few weeks ago and I adore it. Some manufactures used numbers to designate grinds, material used and of course to sequentially number a particular limited run.
Here is a link to my precious, http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...ter-truly.html. I didn't do as much work but I did spend some time with q-tips and polish to make her shine.I shave because I want to, not because I have to!
