Thanked: 43I Barber Stub tail family
Well I managed to snag this guy off eBay for a steal but it had horrible scales and was in need of a new set. It took me a long time to finally get around to making some but I'm finally done. They are ebony with a horn wedge and suit the shape and age of the blade well I think. I just love that the grain and color of the ebony came out so well. Oh and now my other one has someone his age to play with.

Thanked: 43Well after taking the last picture the blade in the back fell over and dinged the edge a bit. I'll say that honing out a chip on a blade like this takes a good amount of patience. I did finally get it out and honed up to shaving sharp again. I have got to be more careful with these blades. The shave test on the ebony blade is tonight.

Thanked: 43My pleasure regularjoe. They are things of beauty for sure.
Well the test shave went poorly. It seems I still don't have the hang of honing wedges yet. It has been re-honed and I will try again in a few days.
