    Default Hugo Hohn repair

I used this razor recently which is in original condition. The only repair needed was to replace a small piece of trim near the end of it.
I made some acrylic to match the color. I cut out a piece to the correct profile of the razor scale. I then made a duplicate shape of the scale in wood to which I added strips of brass to act as depth gauges when I filed in the saw tooth edges. Once done I glued it in place.
    It's a wonderful little razor.

That's exactly like some of the work that you end up doing when you're customizing and modifying scale plastic models.

    Nice job!

How do you make acrylic exactly? You have a link you could point me to perhaps?

Wow awesome repair, and what a great razor I like the slip on case, it is a very pretty piece. Like maddafinga I am also curious about how to make or use acrylics.

Thanks guys. No, it's not a major overhaul but I thought it was needed. It was sort of like looking at a pretty girl who is missing a tooth.
That gap was driving me nuts and had to do something.

Very intricate work executed masterfully! It is always a pleasure to see what you are going to do next. I love the case and razor. Beautiful!!! Sure glad you are a dentist as well as a carver and razor restorer. The old girl would have looked incomplete without a dental crown to restore her smile.
