Default Joseph Rogers in Snake wood

This one belongs to one of our members
~7/8 faux frameback, it came with a set of fancy scales that were busted at the pivot pin. So I decided to see how a set of snake wood scales wil lwork on that blade, I like the result .
Scales were sanded to 400 sand paper then coated with wipe on poly, I pinned with brass pins and washers.

Nice Work! That's some of the prettiest snake wood that I've seen, almost looks like a rattle snakes skin! Again, nice work! I'll bet your honing was as always outstanding!

I'm curious about that too. Never worked with it before, but I like the looks of it.

it was very easy to work with by hand. As soon as I put it to the sander it was not fun, very hard to take material off , it glazed and started to smoke.
It was very easy to cut with coping saw and shape with files.
