    Yep, I annealed the file to soften it. Then ground and shaped, then hardened & tempered.

    Im assuming by now you been using the others razor quite a bit, can you comment on its shaving and especially its edge retention. Just asking since they been made out of a file.

    Close, It's actually just an old fence paling (probably pine) stained with Jarrah wood stain.

    Grant, that is an amazing piece of work!
    I like the custom made box too. I think it must give a great feeling to shave with something that you created yourself.
