5/8 Perfection
Saw this one and I was intrigued by the wooden tang and thought it would be fun replacing it. No idea as to the maker since there weren't any markings except for Perfection on the blade and some numbers on the shank. There are still some scratches and blemishes on the blade. I might go back and sand the blade since it looks like someone took some really coarse sand paper to parts of the blade. Why people decide to do that I do not know. Maybe one of these days I will get a buffer. I mainly got this to try and duplicate the wooden tang. Turned out to be a fun experience. Anyway I went with birdseye maple for the tang and wedge and redheart for the scales. I think the scales would have complimented the birdseye maple in ebony alot better, but since the blade was so light I would have had to make the scales really thin and I like to keep my scales around 2.8 mm finished when working with wood. So I decided to go with redheart since it is a lighter wood. Decided to try a wax finish this time which I liked how it turnout out as a nice satin finish. This was a fun razor to restore. The original scales were broke on one side right at the pin. I plan on shortening them down for a different razor since they are nice scales.

very nice job. Looks really nice. I've never seen a wooden tang.....or if I did, I don't recall.
