Thanked: 2284Johan Engstrom, Ran-tan-ka-rus Red Devil 6/8 restore.
Oh wow!!! Wow wow wow!!!
I say this because this thing just begged, pleaded, and used all its powers, to make sure it got restored. (To the best of my ability anyways. ) Its as if this thing had magical powers, and made things come together on its own!!! I got this razor off of kijiji for $20. I really wanted this when I saw it because it was, what appeared to be, in its original scales. When I picked it up from the seller, the back scale was completely broken. I bought it anyways because the blade was in amazing shape. I then posted it under recent acquisitions and things started to fall into place.
Sharptonn was amazing and sent me a replacement back scale that was an exact match. GMK45 sent me the original box for this razor, and its just beautiful!!! Thanks Gary!!! Sharptonn was a huge help with the re-pinning of the bakelite scales, as he gave me the tips and tricks that needed to be known for this to happen. Without braking the delicate scales. Id say its a complete success and feel a real sense of accomplishment on this one.
Thanks again Tom for everything you did for me on this one!!
Thanks Gary for the awesome box!!

Thanked: 4206Great looking blade Andrew!
I won a red devil on the bay last week that will not look as good as yours for some time.
Mine looks to have old wooden scales though without that cool devil insignia on them.
Not sur if they came in wood or Bakelite as a choice but mine may end up in those horn scales I'm working on if the wood doesn't polish up nicely.
Anyway, great work again sir..
Cheers.

Thanked: 2284You have a pic of it Mike? If it's a swede, get ready for a nice workout on that 1k stone. Mine was like trying to sharpen diamond.

Thanked: 4206Haven't received it yet but it's this
Not the swayback style that I was hoping for but it will be a nice project.
And I didn't have a Swedish razor yet so want to try it out.
Now all I need is a filly and my razor set will be complete..
Cheers Andrew, I need to start watching kijiji I think..
