Both were pretty cheap of of ebay and I rescaled them. The yellow handled one hsa "217 a star with a circle around a cross, Solingen on one side and Alemania on the other" The other has Extra Hollow Ground and Made in Germany on the tang with "king's Crown Razor Set ready for use" on the blade. The scales are lacewood. I am becoming a big fan of the german 6/8 hollow grounds. They seemed to take a ridiculously sharp edge rather quickly and they are a joy to shave with. Anybody have similar razors or know more about the makers?

    Nice looking razors!

As per typical German steel the do take a very nice edge!

What I've found interesting through the years is that the scales on your first picture look identical to what's on my uncles American made Genco Grant! It also takes a very nice edge!

I've seen those bolster on many other scales! I also have a Genevia with Gold bolsters and black scales that are shaped the same as these!

I wonder if there was a supplier that provided for many of the razor manufacturers both here and abroad!?!

The first one has scales I salvaged from a Noonan that came off ebay with a crack in the blade, but I have definitely seen a lot of razors with the same scales.

Unfortunately, no, I have no idea when they were made. The original scales were yellow celluloid for the top and ugly mycarta for the bottom.

    Nice blades!
I seem to have a liking for them as well with the silver bolsters as there are over a dozen in my collection.
