I have a chopper regrind from the bay that needed new scales. The blade was great shape, a little over 7/8, with the maker ground off. i wanted to try some clear lexan I got from Home Depot. It was easy to cut with a band saw and sand. I really like how it turned out and will probably use it again.

I like the scales. I would prefer a different color spacer, but that is just me. Great work tho.

Would you use a different color pecan or try metal? I might try it on the next one.

Try a clear acrylic clip board for color or scale material. Works like a charm

It's a beautiful thing to see an old razor go back on the line.
    Thank you for sharing it.

Easiest source for good material and already thinned for use. I buy mine at the dollar store!

I've used polished metal (brass and aluminium) spacers with translucent scales, initially looks great but will discolour quite quickly. I guess using a clear-coat after polishing might stave off oxidization polished black horn looks really good imho.
