    Default J. Allen&Sons + Scales

    Hi All,
I cleaned up this old blade and I built new scales
in faux tortoise. the new scale doesn't match with the old design,
I preferred a new project based on my taste.

    thank

HEy mate, looks great, I know what you mean about the scales i think it's the barber's notch that clashes, you did a nice job though, I just picked up a joseph allen and sons as well planning to clean it up a little it was in pretty good nick when I got it though so probably won't need much

    Hi Saitou,

in this case the original scales were in bakelite with some cracks
I didn't though very much about to change it

I Have another J.Allen & Sons waiting for a restoration.
It's older and greater than this one. Since it has a horn
scales (with some worm bite ) I'll try to save
    the original scale

Those new scales are nice looking for sure! I've been looking for one of the Joseph Allen blades that has the J Allen stamp rather than the Joseph. My initials J. Allen, so you see the attraction.

    Good lookin razor, enjoy.

    Nice job

I like how the scales flare near the pivot. Very nice.

Nicely done. Interesting design to the scales and the whole fit and finish looks great.
