    Default 5/8 Torrey in Bubinga

Well, I finally decided to actually KEEP a razor that I restored.

    I chose this one! It's a 5/8 Half-hollow Torrey that I acquired from Brooksie.
The scales are a beautiful waterfall bubinga that was gifted to me from pixelfixed.

I cleaned up the blade, and left some minor imperfections. It's near mirror only.

The scales are finished in Mirrorcoat epoxy (awesome stuff!!).

    Wedge is blue/black acetate.

Pins are brass with stacked SS and Brass.

    Here's the porn!

It looks amazing! I can see why you'd want to keep it.

I found this little gem of a razor locally and caught Matt trying to buy one on ebay. Since he's done so much for me I gave it to him in exchange for some work! That's two from me now eh Matt? Let me know how she shaves! I parted with my last one too soon!

I'm getting scales done with the same wood Pixel. Thanks a bunch for sending it. With that amazing epoxy finish this stuff really comes to life! I'd really like to see it dyed

Wash the oil out of some steelwool with gas or laquer thinner, let it dry, submerge it in white viniger for a few days, when the solution turns black from the iron oxides, try using that as a dye.Is an old time way of ebonising wood.

Nice work, I like the very detailed wood.

I used to finish wood scales with CA glue but it is a very long process (at least 12 layers)... is it easier with mirrorcoat epoxy?

    thanks
