First attempt to restore
this is my first try to restore a blade and make scales (i wrote that in another thread as well)
Thought i post some more pictures to get some constructive criticism...its nowhere perfect, but for first I,m happy with it (for now at least)
The blade is not honed (havenīt learned that yet)
the scales are made from beech (actually a paint stick) and given 3-4 coats of shellac.
the blade is hand sanded with various wet/dry sanding paper
all is done by hand except the scales are cut with scroll saw

Nice work. Seems like everything is put together well. Enjoy it once you get it honed up.
Thanks for sharing.

The steel is great and the scales do it justice! You kept them thin and did nice job of contouring them. A+
