So I have decided to try some Buffalo Horn with white streaks as the scales. I noticed when depinning this razor that there were no spacers. Is this typical?

That's not at all unusual. Good idea to add some in though. Good choice on the scale material - that stuff looks fantastic when done well. What are you thinking of using for the wedge?

for the wedge either bone or a piece of brass or aluminum depending on what I pin it with.
