Thanked: 46Some info about micro nuts and screws
Please, I need general info about diffrence between microfastener.com 0-80 micro nuts and 0-80 scale micro nuts (in which dimension difference lay)????
Until now I used brass 0-80 machine micro screws and 0-80 scale micro nuts so I need additional info which Stainless Steel ones I have to order to get exactly same dimensions:
1. machine micro screws - I suppose that HBS0009 are OK (Hex Head Machine Screws - Stainless Steel - Micro Fasteners)
but not sure for the nuts:
HNSS0080 (Hex Nuts - Small Pattern - Stainless - Micro Fasteners)
or
HNS0080 (Hex Nuts - Stainless - Micro Fasteners)

Thanked: 247The size 0-80 stainless machine screw is a bit more than half an inch long(9/16 inch). In the link you provided, it was the only one listed. What is the length of the brass machine screw you normally use? 0-80 is only half the dimension notation. You are missing the notation for length of the screw. I can't say for sure that a half inch is too short. But I buy the 3/4 inch length ones, and cut them to length in place. I don't see any 3/4 inch length stainless machine screws listed on the page you linked. I hope this helped a bit. The other two links are to two different bags of the same nut. One holding fifty of that nut, and another holding 100. No dimensional difference. Does that answer it? Or am I just saying stuff that has no educational value?

Thanked: 1371The first nut linked is a small pattern nut, if you're using the microfastener wrench for the nuts it wont work with the small pattern nut.

Thanked: 1371Well, the threads are the same for both. In that regard, either will work just fine with a 0-80 screw.

Thanked: 1371The HNS0080 should work with the wrench you already have.
If you get the small pattern nuts you'll have to call microfasteners to see if they have a wrench for it.
