If they were white, I'd say you stole Gandalf's razor that matches his staff...well, if Gandalf shaved.
My point is that the scales look so beautiful that the elves of Lothlórien could have made them.
    Spot on.
    Gandalf the Black, perhaps?

Beautiful work! This is the only point that I could disagree with. JMHO You erased the history of the piece.

Really nice work, those scales are wild. This is the 3rd "Electric" I've seen, and they all seem to have really unusual scales, very unique razors!

Not all have those fancy scales as I just sent one off with plain ole' bakelite scales on it to a new shaver...but I do have one with unique scales on it too.

To the OP, that is some fine craftsmanship to bring those scales back to near 100%.

Thanks guys. I love doing projects like this.
As far as erasing the history I guess it's a judgement call. Part of its history was being broken but I had to resolve that as well. The scratched in letters were really crudely done and did nothing in my opinion to enhance the piece as it was difficult to even determine what letters they were trying to make.
In a way, graffiti is part of a buildings history as well but that usually isn't left in place either. Not the best analogy I know but I just couldn't leave it there as it's not a historical artifact. I wanted it close to the look it would have had if it had been cared for all these years.
Then too how many razors get refreshed with scales that are no where close to a factory scale. It's a personal call I guess.
