Dixie Master Barber- Interesting Scales
I wanted to share a razor that I recently partially restored. Its DIXIE Master Barber that is stamped Union City GA.. It is not a bad shaver, but composite scales certainly catch the eye. I only went up to 1500 grit sand paper to remove the surface rust
,and kept the pitting to give it character.

Stamping reads Meyer Bros. Drug Co St. Louis 716 , do you have info on them or what year they were produced in?

Thanked: 4249The Meyer Brothers Drug co, was founded in 1852 in Fort Wayne Indiana, the St-Louis operation in 1865. By The early part of the Twentieth Century it was the largest distributor of drugs and pharmaceutical products in the country.
That said, The Dixie Manufacturing Company was founded at the turn of the century in Union City GA, by Earl Estes and his brother, still active company today in a different field.
From what i can gather your razor is aproximately 100 yrs old, Enjoy!Last edited by Martin103; 04-13-2013 at 04:37 PM.
