Default Dixie Master Barber- Interesting Scales

I wanted to share a razor that I recently partially restored. Its DIXIE Master Barber that is stamped Union City GA.. It is not a bad shaver, but composite scales certainly catch the eye. I only went up to 1500 grit sand paper to remove the surface rust
,and kept the pitting to give it character.

Stamping reads Meyer Bros. Drug Co St. Louis 716 , do you have info on them or what year they were produced in?

The Meyer Brothers Drug co, was founded in 1852 in Fort Wayne Indiana, the St-Louis operation in 1865. By The early part of the Twentieth Century it was the largest distributor of drugs and pharmaceutical products in the country.

That said, The Dixie Manufacturing Company was founded at the turn of the century in Union City GA, by Earl Estes and his brother, still active company today in a different field.

I was raised that if a man's handshake wasn't any good, neither was his signature on a piece of paper; because if he was going to screw you on the deal with his handshake, he'd figure out a way to screw you on the deal after he'd signed the paper!!
