Default My first restore. A Wade & Butcher "Celebrated Extra Hollow"

I would like to show a Wade & Butcher "Celebrated Extra Hollow" I picked up on eBay.

The blade was in decent shape, a lot of rust on the back side, pivot pin was nearly worn through, and mice or bugs had their way with the scales. When closed, the edge protruded from the bottom of the scales. so when I redid them, I added a little height, and squared up the end in a W&B style I like. I cleaned off all the rust, sanded, and polished as much as I dared. I stopped short, so as to not wreck the engraving/makers mark.

For the scales, I used a bit of blond honey horn, I have been hoarding, took them thin, sanded to 2000 grit, and buffed with white diamond.

The wedge is nickel/silver as are the pins. I used Teflon washers at the pivot and instead of stacked washers, I used stainless saucer washers.

This one will get lots of use. Looking forward to putting it in the rotation!

    Here is the before...

    And the after...

I love craftsmanship. Very nice work, and thanks for adding to my feelings of inadequacy.

Nicely done Pierre. That translucent horn really shows off the blade when closed.

Very nicely done Pierre! I love that blond honey horn. You make me want to start my W&B, which right now is Weak & Butchered.

    Great looking razor!! Congrats!!
