1820s Marshes and Shepherd Platina Steel
Finally got around to finishing this tonight. The original scales were broken and from Wade and Butcher anyway, so it's got new shoes. Everything is homemade - scales are in mottled horn, collars are stamped from brass sheet, and the wedge is from old fishing weights. I like how this one turned out...
Edit: just to clarify, noticed I forgot to mention here but did in the older post, I didn't buff the blade, it unfortunately came that way. I just put a glaze finish on everything but the blade face, as it would have come originally.Last edited by ScienceGuy; 05-21-2013 at 10:32 AM.

Thanks. I've had my fair share of WBs and the other common ones but never seem to hold on to them for very long, I like the rarer and more interesting stuff. I like to think that this one is actually real platina steel as it says, distantly involved with Faraday's experiments, but who knows...
