    Default Some handforged Kamisoris

    Hello,

i would like to show you some Kamisoris i made some time ago.
They are not in a traditionall design and the grind is a symmetric western grind. The steels used are carbon steel with about 1% carbon and 1.3505 (bearing steel).
On my kamisoris i always try to play with different finish. So the finish goes from the forged structure on the sides to a satin finish on the blade and a polish on the outline of the razor.

Very nice Ulrik. The only thing that would concern me about shaving with one of them is the squared off heel. If I was to get a blade like that I would round off the pointed heel section. It might be fine to shave with as is but I'd be afraid I'd cut myself. Great looking razors though.

Thank you for your kind comments!

I must admit, i make quite "dangerous tools" with those pointed heels. When i sharpen them (there not sharpened on the pics) i break the point a bit, but just a bit
But personaly i prefer a sharp angel for shaving precise lines. If ever a customer is scared of it i surely make a rounded heel.

@UKRob: Sure i remember it! Its the only traditionall Kamisori with asymmetric grind i have ever made. I am pleased to see it in use and also that the wrapping seems to be still in good condition. Was the first wrapping i did wit Rattan so i was a bit worried.
Just for you to know: The warranty is on the razor no matter if it is a buy from the aftermarket. So if you ever encounter problems just contact me, i will always try to help.

Here is one more picture of the etching on the last kamisori. The structures in the 1.3505 are always fascinating to me...
